A police officer was killed while responding to an emergency call Friday, May 29, after her patrol vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Central Berks Police Officer Kristen Yeager, 42, a married mom of three from Boyertown, was responding with emergency lights and sirens activated when the crash occurred on West Philadelphia Avenue near Manatawny Road in Earl Township, state police said.

Fake Bomb Planted At Colonie Park, Notebook Found And Suspect Arrested: Police
A New York man planted a fake bomb at a park in Albany County near a children’s book exchange, police said.
Brandon Arsenault, 26, placed a water bottle containing a liquid, a mason jar top with a battery terminal, a battery, and red and green wires inside the book exchange at Colonie Mohawk River Park on Saturday, May 16, the Colonie Police Department said.
A bystander who spotted Arsenault placing the device and fleeing the scene called the cops, who arrived to investigate the situation, authorities said.
