$12K Bitcoin Jury Duty Scam Lands South Carolina Woman Charges In Manheim Township
A South Carolina woman is accused of taking part in a Bitcoin scam that tricked a Pennsylvania resident into sending thousands of dollars after a caller falsely claimed the victim had missed jury duty, police announced on Monday, March 16.
Veronica Anntonette Oliva, 36, of Columbia, South Carolina, was charged with Dealing in Proceeds of Unlawful Activities, Theft by Deception, Criminal Conspiracy (Theft by Deception), and Receiving Stolen Property, according to Manheim Township Police.
