Cold Case Update: PA Teen Tracy Kroh's Suspected Killer Mark Warfel Dies In Prison
Mark Warfel, a longtime suspect in the disappearance of Dauphin County teenager Tracy Kroh more than 35 years ago, has died in prison, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections officials confirmed on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Warfel, 91, died at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the State Correctional Institution Laurel Highlands in Somerset County. The official cause of death will be released by the county coroner, according to DOC press secretary Maria Bivens.

A Queens man is accused of breaking into a Long Island home, attacking two women with a knife, and demanding money.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at an Elmont residence on Waldorf Avenue, according to Nassau County Police.
Two women, ages 29 and 70, discovered an unknown man inside their home after he entered through a window. The suspect allegedly demanded money and then attacked both women with a knife.
During the struggle, both victims sustained lacerations before a 29-year-old male resident intervened and managed to disarm the intruder, police said.

A burglary crew with a vehicle stolen out of Maryland were gone in 60 seconds after smashing into a Virginia pawn shop and stealing several guns, authorities announced.
The chaos unfolded around 3:07 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, when deputies were called to Pawn King in the 4400 block of Plank Road, where an alarm went off, according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies got to the scene, they found the front of the store had been rammed by a 2013 Hyundai with Maryland tags.

A 59-year-old man is accused of breaking into a Greene County cabin and sexually assaulting a sleeping woman while a child was present.
The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Rainbow Cabins on State Route 32 in the town of Catskill, according to New York State Police.
Danny Fuller, of Catskill, illegally entered a cabin where a 48-year-old woman was asleep in bed and sexually assaulted her, police said. She woke up, a brief struggle followed, and Fuller fled to his nearby home.

Police say a Hamden man is behind one of Norwalk’s largest storage burglaries.
Tylon Gardner, 35, of Hamden, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 10, after a yearlong investigation into a break-in at Cubesmart on Bouton Street in Norwalk.
Authorities said 89 storage units were entered, and among the stolen items were firearms.
